After the 17 hour long flight to Dubai, the members of the Western Heritage Tour explored around the huge Dubai airport and bought food before the 4 hour long flight to Athens. On arrival in Athens, we took the bus deeper into the city to watch the changing of the guards protecting the unknown soldier's grave in almost 40 degree, cloudless weather. Afterwards on the way to dropping off our luggage in the hotel we observed some of the remaining ancient roads and ruins originally built circa 2000 years ago. After a short settling in the hotel, we all left on our evening walk at 6 pm to eat some dinner and visited the Orthodox Basilica and minor Byzantine churches where we received in depth information about each monument by Mr Buckingham. For our last sight of the day we walked up Mt Lykevittos to witness the stunning view of Athens while receiving more info about the city from Mr Buckingham. We all finally returned back to the hotel around 10:15 pm after a long day of travelling and touring.
